Vintage2017
Clos de la Justice is a monopole, a walled vineyard owned exclusively by one producer, farmed by Maison Pierre Bourée Fils, the Gevrey-Chambertin house founded in 1864 and today run by the Vallet family using traditional, largely manual methods. This 2017 bottling is Pinot Noir at 13% alcohol, and as a village-level Gevrey-Chambertin it displays the appellation's typical dark fruit, earthy spice and firm, structured tannins, if in a somewhat softer register than the estate's premier crus. Being a monopole gives the wine a distinctive, single-owner identity within Gevrey-Chambertin. Pair with roast beef, lamb, or a rustic mushroom dish.
