Vintage2020
Clos des Mouches is a premier cru climat of Santenay, distinct from the Beaune site of the same name, farmed by Domaine Françoise et Denis Clair, a family estate created in 1986 whose 14 hectares run to 8.5 of Pinot Noir and 5.5 of Chardonnay. The 2020 vintage in Burgundy was warm and relatively dry, with an early harvest and naturally low yields, generally producing concentrated, ripe reds with soft tannins. Expect dark cherry, plum and the spicy, savoury character of Santenay's reds. It is vinified by Jean-Baptiste Clair, who joined his parents in 2000 and has directed production since 2011, his late father Denis having founded the domaine with Françoise. Pair with roast duck, game or coq au vin.
