Champagne Louis Roederer, founded in 1776 and renamed after Louis Roederer inherited the house from his uncle in 1833, is one of the few remaining independent, family-run Champagne maisons. This vintage Brut Rosé is a blend built principally around Pinot Noir, with a portion vinified as still red wine and blended in for colour and structure, in the house's classical style. The 2016 Champagne vintage was a challenging growing season with high disease pressure but careful selection produced wines of good ripeness and balance in the best cellars. Expect red berry fruit, a touch of brioche from lees ageing, and fine, persistent bubbles. Serve as an aperitif or alongside roast salmon, duck, or summer berry desserts. A refined vintage rosé from one of Champagne's most historic and respected houses.
