Vintage2020
Le Corton is a climat on the Corton hill at Aloxe-Corton, part of Corton, the only grand cru for red wine in the Côte de Beaune, and Bouchard Père & Fils, a Beaune négociant-grower with vineyards dating back to the eighteenth century, bottled this cuvée as 100% Pinot Noir. The hill's mix of limestone and iron-rich clay gives reds of firmer structure than village Beaune or Pommard. This 2020 shows dark fruit, ripe tannin and a savoury, mineral backbone at 13% alcohol. It will hold five to fifteen years and suits roast game, beef or aged hard cheeses. In October 2025 Artémis Domaines moved Bouchard's grand cru holdings on the Corton hill, together with some 35 hectares of the house's top parcels, into the newly created Domaine des Cabottes, which bottles under its own name from the 2023 vintage. The bottles offered here are older vintages, grown and made by Bouchard Père & Fils while the vineyard was still theirs.
