Clos du Caillou's Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Quartz, 2019 vintage, is a Grenache-based red from a parcel named for the quartz-rich pebbles in its soil, part of the historic estate near Courthézon in the Southern Rhône, run by Sylvie Pouzin since the mid-1990s. Les Quartz shows more concentration and structure than the estate's Tradition bottling, blending old-vine Grenache with Syrah and Mourvèdre. The 2019 vintage brings ripe dark fruit, garrigue spice, and a full, velvety body with well-integrated tannins. Recommended with roast venison, braised beef cheeks, or a mature hard cheese. A powerful, age-worthy Châteauneuf-du-Pape from one of the appellation's respected family estates.
