A red Meursault is an uncommon bottling: the appellation is overwhelmingly planted to Chardonnay, but a small amount of Pinot Noir is grown in the commune and Domaine Fabien Coche bottles this red alongside its whites. It is built in the lighter register of red wine from this part of the Côte de Beaune, with red cherry fruit and soft tannins rather than the weight of Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir. Fabien Coche succeeded his father Alain at the domaine, long known as Coche-Bizouard. Pair with roast poultry or charcuterie.
