Vintage
This village Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc from Domaine Simon Colin is made entirely from Chardonnay. Simon Colin started his own label in 2017, at first buying grapes, and took over 9.3 hectares of his father Philippe Colin's vines from the 2021 vintage, after training with his uncle Bruno Colin and working as assistant winemaker at Domaine Étienne Sauzet. The vines lie in four communes: Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay and Maranges, with roughly 6.3 hectares of Chardonnay and Aligoté and 3 hectares of Pinot Noir. He aims for higher acidity and lighter oak treatment, with an élevage of twelve to fifteen months. Expect citrus, white orchard fruit and a mineral, saline finish. It suits grilled fish, shellfish in cream sauce or a young Alpine cheese. Select your preferred vintage above.
