Vintage2021
Corton-Charlemagne is Burgundy's great white Grand Cru of the Côte de Beaune, and Domaine Jean-Pierre Maldant, based in Ladoix-Serrigny at the foot of the Corton hill since 1895, produces this 100% Chardonnay bottling from the appellation. Now in its fifth generation with Pierre-François Maldant overseeing winemaking, the estate farms with sustainable methods, hand harvesting, and no herbicides. The 2021 vintage, bottled at 13.5% ABV, shows rich citrus, brioche, and hazelnut notes, layered over the powerful, mineral-driven structure this Grand Cru is famous for. Pair with lobster, roast veal, or a mature Comté. A serious, age-worthy Grand Cru White Burgundy from a long-established Ladoix family domaine.
