Vintage2022
La Boudriotte is a premier cru climat of Chassagne-Montrachet, in the Morgeot sector at the southern end of the commune, and Château de la Maltroye, run by Jean-Pierre Cornut since 1993, bottles it in red. The clay-limestone soils here give depth and firm structure, and the estate's reds are fully destemmed, cold-macerated and raised some fourteen months in barrel. Expect dark cherry, blackcurrant and a mineral-tinged tannic frame that softens with a few years in bottle. Serve with roast lamb, venison or a rich beef stew.
