Les Vergers is a Chassagne-Montrachet premier cru in the northern sector of the commune, next to Les Chenevottes, and Domaine Marc Morey works just under a hectare of it. The wine is Chardonnay at 13.5% alcohol. Sabine Mollard runs the estate, which her family founded in the village in 1919. Farming is lutte raisonnée, with the soils ploughed through the year and the crop picked by hand; the wine spends about ten months on its lees in barrel with bâtonnage, then three to four months in vat, with new oak at around a third. Expect citrus blossom, white peach and a fine mineral thread, lighter in build than the domaine's Morgeot. Pair with roast turbot, a creamy risotto or Alpine cheeses.
