Vintage2021
Les Referts is a Puligny-Montrachet premier cru at the northern, Meursault end of the commune, lying below Les Combettes, and Domaine Marc Morey's 2021 is Chardonnay at 13.5% alcohol. The estate is run by Sabine Mollard from Chassagne-Montrachet, where the family has grown vines since 1919. Farming is lutte raisonnée, with the soils ploughed through the year and the crop picked by hand; the wine spends about ten months on its lees in barrel with bâtonnage, then three to four months in vat, with new oak at around a third. Expect citrus, orchard fruit and a firm mineral spine. Pair with a rich seafood gratin, roast chicken in cream sauce or aged Comté.
