Vintage2024
Les Pucelles is a Puligny-Montrachet premier cru lying immediately north of, and contiguous with, the grands crus Bâtard-Montrachet and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, on the same flatter, richer soils. Domaine Marc Morey's 2024 is Chardonnay at 13.5% alcohol from a two-thousand-square-metre parcel, a small holding for an estate whose nine hectares lie mostly across the boundary in Chassagne-Montrachet. Sabine Mollard farms it by lutte raisonnée, with the soils ploughed year-round and the crop picked by hand; the wine spends about ten months on its lees in barrel with bâtonnage, then three to four months in vat. Expect white flowers, citrus and a saline, chalky finish. Serve with a whole roasted turbot, lobster thermidor or a mature Beaufort.
