Vintage2019
Clos de Vougeot is one of the Côte de Nuits's largest and most historic Grand Crus, and Domaine Odoul-Coquard owns a tiny 0.21-hectare parcel here planted with vines around fifty years old. The Morey-Saint-Denis estate, run by winemaker Sébastien Odoul since 2004 following stints at Domaine Dujac, Mommessin and Domaine Denis Mortet, produces only a handful of barrels of this wine in a good year. The 2019 vintage, a well-structured Burgundy year, gives concentrated dark fruit, earthy spice and firm, ageworthy tannins typical of this vineyard. Decant and serve with braised game, roast venison or a mature cheese course.
