Vintage2021
Clos de Vougeot is a walled Grand Cru vineyard in the commune of Vougeot, in the Côte de Nuits, enclosed by Cistercian monks and today divided among many growers. Domaine Tortochot, a family estate based in Gevrey-Chambertin and run since 1997 by Chantal Michel-Tortochot, who took over from her father Gabriel, holds a very small parcel here of about seven rows of vines. The wine is made from Pinot Noir. The 2021 vintage was cooler and lower-yielding in Burgundy, generally producing fresher, more linear wines with bright acidity. Expect notes of red cherry, forest floor and spice, with firm tannins. Serve with roast beef, game or an aged hard cheese.
