Vintage2021
Les Narvaux is a village-level lieu-dit in Meursault, high on the slope above the premier cru vineyards. This bottling comes from Domaine Ballot-Millot, which Charles Ballot has run since 2000, on an estate with family vines in the village since 1630; the Narvaux vines are around sixty years old. Made from 100% Chardonnay and offered here in magnum, a format in which wine ages more slowly. The style is lean and mineral, with reduced yields and restrained new oak: ripe orchard fruit, a light nuttiness and a fresh, saline finish. Pair with roast chicken, scallops or a gratin. The 2021 vintage was cool, and the wine is precise.
