Vintage2020
Chevalier-Montrachet is a white grand cru of shallow, rocky limestone, a narrow band sitting just above Le Montrachet and lying wholly within the commune of Puligny-Montrachet. Bouchard Père & Fils, the Beaune house with roots stretching to 1731, produced this 2020 entirely from Chardonnay. The thin soils and higher slope give wines of a vertical, taut cast: citrus, white flower and a flinty note, with weight at 13.5% alcohol and the material to develop toasted, honeyed notes over decades. It suits lobster or turbot in beurre blanc. In October 2025 Artémis Domaines moved Bouchard's Chevalier-Montrachet, together with some 35 hectares of the house's top holdings, into the newly created Domaine des Cabottes, which bottles it under its own name from the 2023 vintage. The bottles offered here are older vintages, grown and made by Bouchard Père & Fils while the parcel was still theirs.
