Vintage2020
Champs Claude is a village-level red-wine parcel in Santenay farmed by Domaine Françoise et Denis Clair, the family estate created in 1986 that now works 14 hectares, 8.5 of them Pinot Noir and 5.5 Chardonnay. The 2020 Burgundy vintage was warm and dry, with an early harvest and low yields, generally producing ripe, concentrated reds with soft tannins. Expect red and dark cherry, a touch of spice and the earthy, savoury undertone usual in Santenay. It is vinified by Jean-Baptiste Clair, who joined his parents in 2000 and has directed production since 2011; his late father Denis founded the domaine with Françoise. Pair with grilled sausages, roast pork or a beef daube.
