This Vin de France Syrah comes from Hervé Souhaut's Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet, grown on the granite slopes of the Doux valley around Arlebosc and farmed and vinified as the appellation wines are. Souhaut founded the domaine in 1993 at Arlebosc, in the northern Ardèche, with his wife Béatrice. Fermentation runs on native yeast with whole bunches and a long, cool maceration, and the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered with around 25 mg/l of sulphur. Expect dark fruit, pepper and a light-footed, granitic freshness. It goes with grilled sausages, roast vegetables or charcuterie. Select your preferred vintage above.
