Vintage2021
Meursault 1er Cru Perrières sits at the Puligny-Montrachet end of the Meursault hillside, on stony ground that gives the climat its name. It is one of three Meursault premiers crus farmed by Domaine Ballot-Millot, an estate run by Charles Ballot since 2000 with family vines in the village since 1630; the Perrières vines are over forty years old. This 100% Chardonnay is barrel-fermented and left on its full lees without bâtonnage, with around a quarter new oak. It shows citrus and orchard fruit with a smoky, stony minerality and a long, precise finish. Pair with roast lobster, turbot or veal in a light cream sauce. The 2021 vintage was cool and fresh.
