Les Vergers is a premier cru climat in the northern half of Chassagne-Montrachet, on the slope above the village. Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard's 2024 is Chardonnay alone, from an estate of twelve hectares holding three grands crus and a range of Chassagne premiers crus. Céline Fontaine has run the domaine since 2007, continuing the work her parents Laurence Gagnard and Richard Fontaine began in 1985, with Frédéric Robert since 2018. Expect white flower, citrus and a fine, chalky minerality, with the structure to develop in bottle. Serve with scallops, a fish velouté or soft cheeses.
